International Moon Day is celebrated every year on July 20, in honor of the first expedition to land on the moon and set foot on our natural satellite aboard Apollo 11 in 1969.

Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin were the first to walk on the lunar surface, uttering the famous phrase: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
